We are a small (just the three of us, and no plans to change that) homeschooling family that lives in rural Minnesota. I am a stay-at-home-mom (and LOVE it!) and my husband works for an aluminum extrusion company as a saw operator. We have one daughter, Sydney, who turned four in the spring.
Sydney has a genetic disorder, known as 16p11.2 Deletion Syndrome, and while she seems to be pretty mildly affected, with no intellectual deficits or ASD symptoms, she does have low muscle tone which affects her ability to walk, run, and speak clearly.
I've done a lot in my twenty-nine years. I've been in the Army, spent five years in college studying Literature and Anthropology, published a few short stories and articles, traveled a bit, and had a beautiful daughter! My life isn't perfect, but I love it and wouldn't trade it for anything.
When it comes to religion, we're an eclectic mixture of a bit of everything. Dh is a lapsed Lutheran who still adamantly insists he is one, though he hasn't picked up a bible or set foot into a church in at least twenty years. I'm a (non-Wiccan) Pagan who has been greatly influenced by Buddhism and is considering attending a UU church soon.
Politically, we're as liberal as they come. We strongly support marriage equality, universal health care, and access to quality education for all.
