A very wintery nature walk.

Okay, so "very" might be an exaggeration.  We haven't exactly had a lot of snow this winter, and several days in January and February have been warm enough for me to bip around in a short-sleeved shirt.

The upside of this is that Sydney and I have been able to go on quite a few nature walks, whereas during a normal winter we're in danger of losing toes every time we check the mail.  On our last walk, Sydney found something interesting:

She was so excited to see a bird's nest up close!  It was the first time she's gotten to hold one, and she had so much fun investigating the mud and the grass that held everything together.

After our observations, we carefully replaced the nest in its tree and continued on.
